The Qualification

The TQUK Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (RQF) is regulated by Ofqual.

Qualification Purpose

 This qualification is intended for those who assess both occupational competence in the work environment and vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding in a workshop, classroom, or other training environments other than assessing competence in a work environment. There must be evidence to cover all of the assessment methods listed in the units.

As an assessor, you’d be responsible for supporting and guiding the learners through their vocational training.

• You need to plan and deliver NVQ training programs and workshops
• Observe candidates’ competency in their workplace
• Examine candidates portfolio of evidence
• Question candidates about how they would deal with non-standard situations
• Provide feedback and offer advice if the standards are not met
• Sign off the NVQ when all the requirements have been met
• Keep records of candidates’ progress, according to the requirements of the NVQ awarding bodies
• Attend standardization meetings with other assessors
• Work closely with training staff and candidates’ line managers.

Entry Requirements

 There are no specific entry requirements however learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent. The recommended minimum age for this qualification is 18 years and above.

Progression

 Successful learners can progress through the suite of qualifications included in this specification and further to other qualifications, such as the TQUK Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF).
